DEER HUNTING IN MAINE

The Northwoods of Maine produce some of the East Coast's largest white-tailed deer, both in body and racks. Bucks with field-dressed weights of 200-250 lbs are not uncommon for the area.

There are millions of acres of land not posted; swampy, hardwood, mountainous or flatland; just waiting for you. Here at Camp Wapiti, you are free from hunter pressure. Maps are given to each deer hunter on arrival, or on making reservations. Target practice site is available to make sure your gun is sighted in.

During this time you can also hunt coyote, grouse, snowshoe hares and even bear on your big game license. We are in deer management unit #4, with unit #2 nearby, if you choose to apply for antlerless deer permit.

Weeks run from Sunday to Sunday, a full six-day deer hunt.

RATES

Semi guided deer hunt.  $650 per person, $250 deposit per hunter.

*3 meals a day (homemade and plentiful, breakfast before dawn, bag lunch, and supper after dark)

*private cabin w/ electricity, bathroom, down and fleece bedding.

*maps of the area, we keep track of were you are going each day and when you do not report in we will immediately come out and look for you.  We share some areas with you that would work for what style of hunting you would like to do.

*you would need your own transportation.  

*you have the option of hiring a guide by the day $150 a day.  $50 for each extra person up to 4 people.  Maine allows hunting parties of 5.

Fully guided deer hunt.   $500 deposit required for each hunter.

$1150 per hunter for one guide for three hunters per week.

$1250 per hunter for one guide for two hunters per week. 

$1500 per hunter for one guide per one hunter per week.

You just need to show up with your hunting gear, we will do the rest.

*private cabin for your party

* we provide all transportation to and from the hunting areas (we can also pick you up at the airport for addition travel cost, depends on amount of hunters)

* fully guided all 6 days of hunt, with pre scouting done.

By locking in on a fully guided hunt you can secure that a guide is available to you for the entire week.

Non-hunting companions are welcome.  $550 for the week, 3 meals and lodging provided.

Because our deer hunting areas are in working forests, the deer habitat tends to change on a yearly basis.

Nonrefundable deposit is required.
Maine law prohibits hunting on Sunday.
